This piece is one of my favorites. Getting carried away is what I do best. I knew I wanted this to light up as well when I started it. The bottom layer of resin is black, followed by a swirling mix of deep charcoals and a more sheer black resin to let the light of the stars shine through. Then I began the fun, yet tedious process of layering each stick, leaf, flower, rock, shell, etc... I like when my pieces come up out of frame as well. I think it brings life to it. There are all kinds of little treasures to discover in this giant log slice. I think it depicts a beautiful summer day in a Michigan Forest! Like a hike you can enjoy at home you travel from the pines to the birch, to beach, to the field of wildflowers. This piece does weigh in at a hefty 9 pounds, so keep that in mind. There are also two battery packs on the back with access on the front right (without having to turn it over) and a remote control that changes the settings.
