What's more breathtaking than a Michigan sunset over basically any lake?! Now it can be yours anytime! I like utilizing many different techniques and this one includes the use of tinfoil. I covered tinfoil in alcohol ink and then crinkled and covered with resin to make the sunset waves. The clouds are formed with resin and cotton balls before they were added to the moon for that fluffy effect. There are rocks and actual beach wood from Michigan embedded in the bottom edge. I painted some dried ferns and greenery black and layered them throughout for the silhouette effect and painted in grasses. I also used color shifting paint to create wispy, magical waves on top of the tinfoil layer (will see that in person). Swirled mica throughout the piece gives that dewy shimmer. I also sanded down through the tinfoil the back in the center so when exposed to sun, would glow intensely and look even more different! I love when art interact with life! I also cast the sun when casting the clouds in a silicone mold and filled around it. The second picture (the one with the frosty background) shows what the moon looks like hanging in front of the frosted window. So fun!
